code, shape and meaning (book)

About the Project

code, shape and meaning is the title of a book and also the result of a research that, then, turned into my undergraduate thesis. At that time, about to become a computer scientist, I decided to research the intersections between computing and arts — both topics I'm passionate about.

The intention was to investigate and also to present the art-technology field and, more specifically, computer art; its common tools, history, motivations and also the people whose life events and experiments contributed a lot for its establishment. Also, to introduce the art-technology field as a fruitful medium for multidisciplinary collaborations between technical people (computer scientists, engineers, developers), artists and designers.
